Happy Halloween!

Image
Today is Halloween.  Most of these pics will be repeats, but they will all be from Halloween at the park.  Enjoy! Here's a nice family pic taken when the Halloween decorations were up: I think the Mansion always counts as Halloween, doesn't it? Here's a fun one: They go all-out with pumpkins.  We won't see any as we'll be there for Christmas! Here's another fun one: I have it on good authority that Reagan likes the park during Halloween! Even the grey stuff gets the Halloween treatment.  It's known as Grave Stuff: Anyway, I think you get the idea.  Now get out there and get some candy!

If You're Tired of Snack Posts...

Image
If you're tired of seeing posts about the snacks at Disneyland then you might as well skip this post. Here we have Trev wearing one of my favorite shirts: the Teacups themed "Are you mad, bro?" shirt.  It's great, but not the focus of this post.  Instead, notice that he's happily eating popcorn. Look at these boys.  They're smiling, but it's a forced smile.  The problem is they want a churro but the churro booth is closed! A picture by a churro booth is just not as good as actually eating a churro! Would it come as a surprise to anyone that I like the beignets? I really like them.  The ones in Downtown Disney are better than the ones in the park, but they are all still awesome.  On Monday November 13 I will be in Downtown Disney and I will get some beignets.  Anyone reading this is welcome to join me! Oh, and on Tuesday November 14 (some 12 hours later) I will be in Disneyland getting some Mickey shaped beignets right after I ride Pirates.  Everyo...

A Lot of Fun!

Image
This post has a bunch of fun pictures.  Here's one of Dad having a blast in line for the Winnie the Pooh ride.  Brandon is having fun.  Christian sees something funny on his phone.  That guy behind Dad in the blue shirt isn't part of our family. Here's a video of us walking through the park.  We are kinda by Pirates in New Orleans Square area. The little pirate band is fun.  It's more fun to see everyone.  Not as many smiles as you'd expect in the happiest place on earth, but that's okay. In this one we have some kids and Mom.  I think this is the railing by the Cups.  Is it possible that these kids chose not to ride the Cups and someone took this picture from the Cups ride? This is a nice family picture! One of the boys seems to be displeased with having to take the picture.  Who can blame him? He wants to hit the rides, not pose for a picture!  Also, Kaiden must have forgot his jacket!  Ha! This picture is cool.  Four ki...

Happy Birthday Brandon!

Image
Perhaps the first full sentence Brandon ever spoke in his life (at least one we could all understand) was "Go home."  He could be heard to say this about 20 minutes into sacrament meeting!  He would get bored and he knew what was at home: tv and a roast in the crockpot! You will never hear him say "Go home" at Disneyland.  No way!  He loves it there!  Anyway, happy birthday Brandon! One time we rented a giant house and celebrated on of Brandon's birthdays on the morning we left: He loves riding Pirates! He loves to tease others, especially dad: He'll pose for pretty much any picture: He loves any ride! He'll do Buzz Lightyear: He'll do Casey Jr Train: He'll wear a garbage bag on Grizzley River Run: He doesn't mind the loud, herky jerky Indiana Jones: He is so fun on Mater's Junkyard Jamboree! He likes to see the characters: He likes going with Lissa: Maybe mom will let him ride Space Mountain for his birthday! Bottom line is he loves it. ...

Tea Cups Would You Rather?

Image
Would you rather ride the Tea Cups 10 times in a row or have to hear the Small World song all day at the park? I'm choosing the song all day.  No way I could ride the Cups even twice in a row without it ruining my day.  Here's a picture of Kaiden before he rides the Cups, looking happy and excited: I love the music! Here he is after the ride. I'm thinking he might not be able to handle 10 in a row! Lissa is giving two thumbs up here, but we all know she can't take this ride, not 10 times in a row!

Why?

Image
Can you believe that I'm doing another post about Splash Mountain? Sheesh.  It's a fun ride, though. I am excited to see what it looks like when it gets made over. In the meantime we'll relive the ride through these pictures. One time they handed out baggies for our cell phones.  They are just small ziplock bags, but they have some Splash Mountain branding on them.  Does anyone still have one of these bags?  They don't hand them out anymore, so having one might be a collector's item! I think it's a tradition, though a subconscious one, to take a picture of the kids while they are sitting in the log flume looking back.  Here are some examples: We might as well put up one of the pictures of family going off the big drop:

Random, Fun Pics

Image
Here comes another round of random pictures. No theme, nothing specific, just some fun pictures from previous trips. Here we have a bunch of kids at the beach.  I believe that is the Santa Monica Pier in the background. In the foreground we see some family. Lissa is wearing the red shirt and I think she's holding a baby.  She's also keeping an eye on the baby standing right next to her.  I can also see Zac and Trev in this picture.  Where has the time gone? One time at Disneyland we saw a celebrity named Atticus Shaffer. He's an actor best known for playing Brick Heck on one of my favorite sitcom The Middle. He whispers things and is generally weird in the show.  In real life he has type four osteogenesis imperfecta.  Basically, he has very fragile bones.  Anyway, we snuck a picture of him as he walked to Jungle Cruise. Here's a picture of Trevor sitting by a famous statue.  Do any of you know what the name of this statue is? Don't bother looking ...

Hyperspace Mountain

Image
Sometimes they change the lights and music on the Space Mountain ride and call it Hyperspace Mountain.  This is a total Star Wars theme and it is AWESOME!  They play the Star Wars main theme song and other sounds the fighters make.  Other ships shoot at us with lasers and the whole thing.  It is amazing.  Easily may favorite version of the ride. There's a Halloween version that made young Zac cry.  There's also the original version, which is cool too. We don't have a lot of pictures or videos of this ride.  It's a dark ride and none of the in-ride pics and videos turn out any good.  Since we don't have many pictures we just need to make sure we ride this ride as often as possible.
