Brook Trout
I like the Mater ride. It's especially fun to ride with Brandon!
Larry the Cable guy did the voice for Mater in the movie and he also recorded the instructions for the ride. When he does it in Spanish it's pretty funny! Check this out:
Mater's Junkyard Jamboree at Disney California Adventure is a rootin' tootin' tractor-twirling hoedown that brings all the charm and humor of the Cars movies to life. Nestled in the heart of Cars Land, this playful ride is hosted by none other than the loveable tow truck Mater, who invites you to join in on a good ol' fashioned dance party at his junkyard. If you've ever wondered what it would be like to be spun around by a tractor at a country jamboree, well, wonder no more!
As you approach Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, you're greeted by a rustic scene straight out of Radiator Springs. The ride is set against a backdrop of Mater's homey junkyard, complete with piles of spare parts, rusted-out old cars, and plenty of Mater's signature "decorations." The upbeat, twangy tunes of a country-western band fill the air, instantly putting you in the mood for some fun. Mater himself can be heard throughout the area, welcoming you in his trademark Southern drawl and getting the party started.
When it’s your turn to ride, you’ll hop into one of Mater’s adorable baby tractors, each hitched to a little trailer. These aren’t just any old tractors, though—they’re raring to go and ready to dance. The premise is simple: you and a bunch of other riders are about to be spun around in a series of twirls and swings as your tractor trailers whip around like partners in a square dance gone haywire.
Once the music starts, the tractors take off, spinning and swinging you around in a dizzying but delightful choreography. It’s not a high-speed thrill ride, but don’t be fooled—those tractors have some serious kick! As you whip around the turns, you’ll be laughing uncontrollably, partly from the sheer joy of it and partly because you’ll have no idea which direction you’re going next. It’s like square dancing, but with fewer complicated steps and a lot more centrifugal force.
The best part of Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree is the infectious sense of fun that comes with it. Mater himself provides the soundtrack, singing country-fied versions of classic tunes with hilarious lyrics that’ll have you chuckling the whole ride through. His voiceover commentary is filled with that good ol’ Mater charm, making you feel like you’re at a backyard hoedown with your best buddies. It’s a ride that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that’s exactly what makes it so fun.
The ride experience varies slightly depending on which baby tractor you get, as each one has its own dance moves, so you might find yourself coming back for multiple rounds just to see how different tractors handle the jamboree. It’s a perfect mix of kid-friendly fun and lighthearted thrills, making it a hit for families and anyone who loves the playful spirit of Cars Land.
By the time your tractor comes to a stop, you’ll be grinning from ear to ear, filled with that warm, fuzzy feeling that only Mater and his junkyard jamboree can provide. Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree isn’t about speed or big drops—it’s about pure, unfiltered fun and a whole lot of spinning. So, if you’re ready to grab your dancing boots (or, you know, your trailer), head over to Mater’s junkyard, hitch a ride on one of his trusty tractors, and get ready for a jamboree you won’t soon forget. Yee-haw!
This is my blog so I can do what I want. To that end, I'm posting a short video of a brook trout I caught back in February 2024. I love this fish! Look at the colors! Red dots with blue circles. What a nice fish!
Here's the long story:
Eggcellent Options
Meanwhile, the adults gravitated towards the eggs and
sausage. Jeff loaded his plate with a mountain of scrambled eggs, while Lissa
piled on the sausage links.
"Protein for energy," Jeff said with a grin.
"We’ll need it to keep up with the kids."
Julene added yogurt to her plate, balancing out the heavier
options with something lighter.
"Don’t forget the yogurt," she said, handing a cup
to Lisa. "It’s good for digestion."
