I gotta say, I really enjoy putting this blog together. It's pretty fun to look through all of the pictures-and believe me, there are A LOT of pictures! This hat is legendary! And if you're wondering, yes it's the same hat that Zac got those many years ago!
It's no secret by now that I like the drive down to Disneyland. The drive back? Not so much, but the drive down is fun! Here I am in front of the pyramid casino in Las Vegas. My friend Jason was staying there when we drove by so I texted him this pic. He said, "I thought I saw you drive by."
Speaking of the drive down. Did you guys know there is a big Chevron gas station a little ways past Vegas? It's got a lot of gas pumps, a sasquatch (That's the yeti's North American cousin), and a White Castle. The burgers at White Castle are small and they aren't that good. But they are good! Whatever kind of sense that makes.
Then, of course, there's the Big Thunder Railroad!
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland is the wildest ride in the wilderness, where you’re thrown into the chaos of a runaway mine train barreling through a cursed, gold-mining mountain. Set against the rugged backdrop of the Old West, this rollicking roller coaster takes you on a bumpy, high-speed adventure through dynamite-filled tunnels, craggy canyons, and some serious Old West shenanigans. If you’re looking for a ride that’s equal parts thrill and yee-haw, then Big Thunder is your golden ticket.

As you approach the ride, you’re greeted by the towering red rock formations and weathered mining equipment that make up the iconic landscape of Big Thunder Mountain. The whole setup feels like a trip back in time to the days of gold rushes and ghost towns, but with one big difference: the spirits of this mountain aren’t exactly friendly. Legend has it that the mountain is cursed, which is probably why your mine train has no regard for speed limits or safety standards—this is one train that’s totally off the rails!
Once you board your train and hear that famous warning (“Hold on to your hats and glasses!”), you know you’re in for a bumpy ride. The train lurches forward, and before you know it, you’re racing through the wilderness at breakneck speed, weaving through tunnels, dodging falling rocks, and flying over rickety bridges. The track is filled with sharp turns, sudden drops, and enough bumps to make you feel like you’re being tossed around like a sack of gold dust.

But the real star of the show? The infamous goat. About halfway through the ride, you’ll catch sight of a goat on a rocky ledge, munching on a stick of dynamite like it’s his afternoon snack. He’s an unassuming little critter, but don’t be fooled—right as you pass by, the goat lets out a high-pitched bleat that can startle even the most seasoned riders. That unexpected bleat has become legendary among fans, earning the goat a reputation as Big Thunder’s sneakiest jump-scare. Just when you think you’ve got the wild ride under control, that bleat catches you off guard and adds an extra dose of hilarity to the chaos.
The theming on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is top-notch, with every detail designed to make you feel like you’re hurtling through a haunted mine in the heart of the Old West. From the eerie abandoned mining equipment to the dynamite explosions that go off around you, the ride perfectly captures that wild, unpredictable energy that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The spooky nighttime version, where the mountain is bathed in eerie lighting, cranks up the atmosphere even more—it’s like the mountain is alive, and it’s determined to give you the ride of your life.
By the time your train screeches to a halt, you’ll be breathless, laughing, and possibly still shaking off that goat bleat. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad isn’t just a ride—it’s a full-blown adventure that takes you through the highs and lows of a runaway train in the wild frontier. It’s fast, it’s fun, and it’s filled with enough surprises (and bleats) to keep you coming back for more.
So, if you’re ready to brave the curse of Big Thunder Mountain and take on the wildest ride in the wilderness, grab your hat, hold on tight, and prepare for a roller coaster that’s as thrilling as it is unpredictable. And maybe give the goat a wave on your way past—just don’t be surprised if he gives you a little more than you bargained for!
Now the long story:
Main Street Magic
The group strolled down Main Street, USA, taking in the
sights and sounds. Street performers played cheerful tunes, and the iconic
castle loomed in the distance, promising endless adventures.
"I can’t believe we’re finally here," Reagan said,
her eyes wide with wonder.
"It’s like stepping into a dream," Jenna added,
holding her little brother’s hand.
Beyond Rich
The feeling of being able to buy anything and the
overwhelming sense of joy was almost intoxicating. Every corner held a new
delight, and the promise of unforgettable memories.
"So, what’s the first stop?" Trevor asked,
bouncing on his toes.
"Let’s start with some churros," Julene suggested.
"Because if the air smells this good, imagine how they taste!"
With that, the families set off on their magical adventure,
ready to explore Disneyland and make the most of their day. They were filled
with the wonder and excitement that only Disney can bring, knowing that this
would be a day they’d remember forever.
