The Incredible Rollercoaster

Image
The Incredicoaster is fun. It's fast, it goes upside down, and it makes me a little sick. "Some years ago" Trevor decided to ride Space Mountain and after he rode it he said it was really fun.  I tried to tell him that if he liked Space Mountain he would love Incredicoaster.  He was not interested.  Over the next few visits to the park I tried to convince him to do it.  If you like Big Thunder (which he does) and you like Space Mountain (which he does) then just try the Incredicoaster!  He finally did it, but it took Ben Franklin to convince him to go. Now I think it's his favorite ride in the park.  If only I was rich enough to get him to try Guardians. The Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure is a high-speed, action-packed roller coaster that combines the thrill of extreme drops and loops with the heroic antics of Disney-Pixar’s favorite superhero family, The Incredibles . Opened in 2018 as a reimagining of the original California Screamin’ coaster, the Inc

Pictures and Stuff

Look at this one: I really like this picture. My friend Jesse referred to this group as the "OG Christensens." This was taken back in May.  We are in ToonTown, in front of the new Mickey and Minnie ride. Here's another picture: I have spent a lot of time at Disneyland.  I mean, not a lot, but I average probably 2-3 days per year. In all of my time at the park I've never seen this wanted poster.  I don't know who that is or where this picture was taken.  I need someone to enlighten me on the matter. Now look at this: This would be a fun picture to play the caption game with. Here we have two guys who are giving a thumbs up, but they're looking at each other like they aren't so sure what they're thumbs upping. There's this look of confusion. And, of course, who could miss the photo bomber?! Here's another pic: This was taken on the Jungle Cruise at night. I thought the Jungle Cruise at night would be so cool.  It wasn't.  It was a bit of a le

Happy Birthday Zac!!!

Image
Not a lot of yip-yap today.  Just a wish that Zac have a good birthday and a whole bunch of pictures of him. Anyway, happy birthday boy! Here's more long story: Sweet Dreams Back in their rooms, the kids settled down quickly, exhausted from the day's activities. The parents checked on them one last time before heading to their own beds. "Tomorrow’s the big day," Lissa whispered to Christian as they tucked in their youngest. "Yep, it’s going to be magical," Christian replied, smiling. In the quiet of their rooms, the families drifted off to sleep, dreaming of Disneyland and the adventures that awaited them. The long journey had been full of laughs and challenges, but it was all leading up to the excitement and wonder that lay just beyond the gates. "Goodnight, everyone," Lisa called out softly from her room. "See you all in the morning." With the promise of a magical day ahead, they all fell into a peaceful, happy sleep, ready

YouTube Today

Image
YouTube is going to go the heavy lifting today. The video does require a bit of an explanation.  So, there's a thing I sometimes do to kill a Saturday afternoon (or an odd Tuesday afternoon at work on a slow day) that really hypes me up for Disneyland. I like to put a Disneyland walkthrough video from YouTube on the big TV. If you search it up you can find VERY recent videos that people make.  They just hold up their GoPro camera and literally walk through the park!  You get all the sights and sounds of the park (but not the smells), you get to see the people, and have fun thinking about being there.  Simply watching one of those videos is great! But there's a way to make watching a walkthrough video even better.  You see, while the video plays on the TV I like to open the Disneyland app and go to the map feature.  Now, we all use this to check on the ride wait times.  I'm sure all of you, like me, check wait times pretty much daily, so you're all very familiar with the

It's a Small, Small, Small, Small World

Image
The title of this post is based on the 1963 classic comedy It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Anyway, let's look at a random pic or two: Now about the ride: The "it's a small world" ride at Disneyland is a delightful, whimsical journey that celebrates global harmony and the diversity of cultures from around the world. Opened in 1966, this beloved attraction was originally created for the 1964-65 New York World's Fair before finding its permanent home in Disneyland, where it continues to enchant visitors of all ages. As you approach the attraction, you're greeted by the iconic white and gold façade, adorned with whimsical clock towers, spinning flowers, and a cheerful array of moving parts. The upbeat and instantly recognizable theme song sets the stage for the enchanting voyage that lies ahead. It's like stepping into a storybook filled with vibrant colors and joyful melodies. The adventure begins as you board a colorful boat and gently drift into the ri

Matterhorn > Autopia

Matterhorn.  I don't know. What do you think? A while back I rode it and didn't like it all. It was bumpy and rough and when I got done I was glad to get out of that bobsled. Then, back in May I rode it again and it was much more fun. Maybe it's because I rode it with Brandon. Maybe it's because they had just got done with a weeks-long refurbishment.  I don't know.  I don't know if I like the ride or not. I hope to go on it again on November 12 and see if I like it. The Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland is a thrilling roller coaster that combines alpine adventure with the excitement of a high-speed chase through the iconic Swiss mountain. Opened in 1959, this classic attraction was the world’s first tubular steel continuous track roller coaster and remains a beloved favorite for its unique theme and exhilarating ride. As you approach the Matterhorn, the towering, snow-capped peak dominates the landscape, evoking the grandeur of the Swiss Alps. The attention to d

Stupid Autopia.  It's okay. The setting is cool.  They are going to switch the cars to electric, but until that happens we'll all enjoy the sweet smell of two-stroke engine exhaust while we wait to ride this "ride." What you are about to read was generated by ChatGPT.  Chat has never been on this ride so he tries really hard to sell it as one of the better rides at Disneyland.  Enjoy the falsities and humor! Autopia at Disneyland is a charming, nostalgia-filled attraction that lets you take the wheel for a leisurely drive through a scenic and whimsical roadway. Opened in 1955 as one of the park’s original attractions, Autopia has been delighting visitors with its kid-friendly driving experience for decades. As you approach Autopia, the retro-futuristic design and colorful signage invite you to step back into a time when the open road symbolized freedom and adventure. The queue winds through a landscape filled with vintage car memorabilia and cheerful music that sets t

The Best Ride There Is

Image
Ah, Space Mountain.  I love this ride and when it has the Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain overlay it is the best ride that human kind has ever invented. I mean, how fun is this ride?! Look at all of us (except Kaiden, who managed to fall asleep during the ride) having the time of our lives! Space Mountain at Disneyland is a rocket-fueled voyage through the cosmos, combining the thrills of a high-speed roller coaster with the wonders of outer space. Opened in 1977, this iconic attraction has been launching visitors into the galaxy for decades, making it a must-ride for anyone seeking a stellar adventure. As you approach Space Mountain, the futuristic white spires and sleek design signal that you’re about to leave Earth behind. The anticipation builds as you wind through the space station-themed queue, with displays of star maps, spaceship models, and mission control panels setting the stage for your interstellar journey. It’s like NASA, but with shorter lines and more churros. Once aboard

Randomness

Here come some random pics from the park. I don't know exactly what's happening here, but you can definitely see Lissa in the background and she is definitely NOT parenting.  Most likely she is mindlessly scrolling social media.
