No Babies Here!

Image
Aren't you glad we didn't have to use this area?  I don't know who the poor, unfortunate soul is who is heading that direction, but...too bad!  In the bottom corner of this photo is a sign for corn dogs!  Yeah!

Rope Drop...Again

Image
In an earlier post I said I wanted to make it to the rope drop.  Well, mission accomplished!  However, we made it purely by accident because we didn't really know what we were doing.  Also, it was just okay.  The internet made it out to be a big deal, but it was just a rope that "blocked" our way into the depths of the park.  At the designated hour (9am) the rope was dropped and we all rushed on to Big Thunder!  Here is Trevor and about 10,000 of our closest friends at the rope drop:

Hotel Breakfast

Image
As promised yesterday, here is some more on the hotel breakfast.  The best thing about breakfast was that it was already prepared!  The food was good and it was nice that the kids could help themselves.  As you can see from the picture below, I mostly had the high-protein keto-style breakfast, but I also saw people eating fruit and yogurt.  Mom stole several bagels and other odds and ends as well, but she was sneaky enough that I didn't get any evidence...er, I mean photos!

Staybridge

Image
The hotel we stayed at, Staybridge Inn and Suites, was really good.  Dad never did like the location, but the suites were big and the breakfast was...at least we didn't have to prepare our own breakfast!  Haha.  It was good and you can bet there will be a post on the hotel breakfast later.

Black Bear Diner

Image
I really like the Black Bear Diner.  I try to make good pancakes, but can't.  My mom's are good and so are the ones at BBD.  On our way down to California we stopped at the BBD in St. George.  We have eaten at this exact restaurant before and I think everyone who has eaten there likes it.  Here's a picture of the volcano, an item on the menu that I order every time: And here is Gage with his mini volcano.  It's just like the regular volcano, except it has less food.  Incidently, the service at this particular BBD is waaaaaaaaaaay better than the service we get from the Orem location.

Seal Beach

Image
The day we got to Southern California we decided to go to Seal Beach.  Patti had never seen the Pacific Ocean and the last time we were down there we went to that same beach and had a great time.  This time it was chilly!  In fact, it was a good 10 degrees colder than Anaheim.  The beach was still great fun!  Next time we go we need to make time for a beach day.

It's All Over

Image
For over 150 days we've been counting down to our trip to Disney.  We spent a lot of time re-telling stories from past trips and also making plans for this trip.  Now, in a whirlwind, it's all over.  I had a great time.  I loved watching the kids delight at all of the cool rides!  I loved the food.  I loved spending time with everyone.  I loved our shirts.  I loved our hotel. It's curious-I'm just as tired after a long drive in the car as I am when I spend a day at Disney.  You know, 12 hours at the park gets me tired and makes my feet hurt.  A 12 hour drive makes me just as tired, but it's my butt that hurts! Anyway, we stopped in St. George like we have done twice before, and ate at Golden Corral.  It was really good.  Mandy was glad to see they added Diet Coke to the menu.  I was pleased that they had wings! Here's a picture from Golden Corral.  If you're wondering why it looks like mom is bending over to pick up a lost 10 dollar bill, it's beca

Day 3

Image
Well, that was a fast three days!  How about that rain?  Whew!  Anyway, what better way to relax after being at the park than by swimming?  Here's a shot of some of the kids in the hot tub at 10pm.  I just wanted to sleep!
