Happy Birthday Jenna!

Image
I know Jenna likes Disneyland, especially on her birthday.

Turkey Legs!

Image
Let's talk turkey.  I know we've talked about turkey legs already, but we're going to talk about them again.  They are huge.  They are salty.  They are delicious.  They can be their own meal if you don't think a meal needs veggies.  Not only are they good, they are good for pictures!  Take a look: The main purpose of this post is to highlight the turkey legs, but take a look at the little boy in the background in this photo.  He is not happy.  He's at Disneyland, but he's not happy.  He's tired and ready to lay down!

Walking Around the Park

Image
Sometimes I day-dream about walking through the park.  I have most of the park memorized so I can easily visualize where I am in the park.  And because I have a problem, I will sometimes pull up Google Maps Street View and "walk" through the park.  Also because I have a problem I will watch YouTube videos of people walking through the park. Watch these short videos, then close your eyes and imagine yourself somewhere in the park, eating a churro. Sometimes it's good to stop walking and learn a new dance, right in the park:

Tons of Pics!

Image
Disneyland has so many places for good pictures.  It's fun to take pictures.  It's fun to look at pictures.  Doing those things with Disneyland in the background is awesome! Enjoy these and comment on them if you want:

Alice in Wonderland

Image
I don’t have very many pictures of the Alice in Wonderland ride.  Probably because the line is pretty slow moving and the ride is just okay. . This is a dark ride located in Fantasyland and it’s right by the Mad Tea Party.   The ride opened in 1958, was remodeled in 1984, and updated again in 2014.   This ride was initially supposed to be a walk-through attraction, meaning you would just walk instead of ride something.   We all know that any sort of walk through (think Mickey’s house in Toon Town or the Star Wars thing by Space Mountain) is terrible at Disneyland.   WE WANT RIDES!!!   Luckily, they decided to make it a ride. . One time, when Karen Branch came with us, I was scared to ride the Matterhorn and convinced her to ride this one with me instead.   There was a teeny, tiny drop in this ride and I thought it was almost cool.   That made me want to try a fast ride, so then we hit Matterhorn.   I was scared to death until we got going, then loved it!

Autopia...again.

Image
I drive almost every day.  Driving a loud, slow, car that smells like exhaust doesn't appeal to me. The kids seem to like it.

Seal Beach

Image
As you may know, we live in Utah.  Utah is a land-locked state.  So, when we go to California it's fun to go to the beach.  We don't get to see the ocean everyday so there's some novelty to being on the coast. The closest beach to Anaheim is Seal Beach and it's only a 25 minute drive. The sand, the ocean, it's great!  Of course, it doesn't hold a candle to the Destin beaches, but it's still worth checking out. Here some pics from that one time we went to the Santa Monica Pier: Here's Seal Beach:

Everyone Loves Big Thunder!

Image
Big Thunder is one of my favorites.  I like seeing the goat.  I like hearing the manufactured train sounds.  I like hearing the real screams as people ride the ride.  I even like waiting in line because it looks cool.   Just listen to the chugging of the train and the screams of the people. Makes me smile everytime. There are a lot of good photo ops before we ride this ride:

Brandon Loves Disney

Image
Does anyone love Disneyland more than Brandon?  He gets tired.  He gets thirsty. He gets hungry.  None of that stops him from enjoying the parks!

Bubba Gump's

Image
It has turned into a bit of tradition that we eat at Bubba Gump's the night before we hit the parks. This tradition is a mystery to me.  The food tastes fine, but a little pricey.  The wait is long, but that's typical when you're trying to seat a group of 20. Maybe we should consider eating at the fine establishments at Down Town Disney next time.

Snacks and Treats...again.

Image
I think by now it's no secret I like the snacks and treats at the park.  In fact, I think we all love some of the offerings. None of it is cheap, but all of it is delicious and fun. Here are a few of my can't-miss favorites.  If I don't get to eat these things I get a little more grumpy than usual: 1. Churros 2. Grey Stuff 3.  Beignets I guess that's it for the list.  I eat a lot more food than, that, but those things are must-eats!  What is on your list that I should add to mine? Here's a pic of the beignets: Here's a Red Hots churro: The mint juleps are great!  I don't really like mint flavor, but it's subtle in this drink and it's so refreshing! These are known as Tigger Tails.  It's marshmallow dipped in chocolate and other flavor.  Have any of you had these?  I've never tried them, but when I Google "best snacks at Disneyland" these come up often.

A Bug's Life

Image
To my knowledge, this ride no longer exists.  I did not like this ride.  It looked safe enough, but by the end I was sick.  What a dumb ride to get sick on.  It's similar to the rocket ride in Tomorrow Land and the Dumbo ride.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters

Image
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is really fun.  It's a ride and a video game, two things we all really enjoy! There are some secrets to scoring higher in this ride.  For instance, do not ride with me.  I will annoyingly push your gun down so you can't aim as well. There are other secrets too.  Zurg's chest plate has a hidden target that is worth a lot of points.  Look it up and share it with us in the group text! This is one ride that has a decent line.  There are fun things to look at, not just chain switchbacks. I don't like to take time out of the ride for pictures because I'm too busy trying to show everyone that I dominate at this ride.

King Triton Carousel

Image
Here are a few pics from the old carousel in DCA.  They have since updated it.  The reason we ride this thing, ever, is because it's right by the place where we hang out while the big kids ride the Incredicoaster.  There aren't a lot of places to sit and the young kids get a little fidgety waiting.  So, if we're going to wait around we might as well wait in this line and ride this thing. Here are the few pictures I have of this ride:
