Toy Story yet again?

Image
I've said it before, we take a lot of pictures while waiting in line at Toy Story.  I don't know why.  What I do know is that we don't have very many pictures or videos during the ride.  That's because everyone is trying to make sure they get the high score!  Ain't nobody got time for pictures when you're trying to break a bunch of plates and pop all the balloons!

We go to the beach

Image
Sometimes we make the beach part of the trip.  Sometimes I don't want to go to the beach because I want to go to the park.  Other times I want to stay an extra day and play at the beach but we don't because of how much it costs.  A time or two we have made going to the beach part of the trip.  Santa Monica was one of those trips.  Seal Beach is much closer to Anaheim so we've been there more than once. I don't think we'll hit the beach when we go in November.  It's pretty chilly!  Is it strange to drive all the way to Southern California and not see the ocean?  I mean, when we're at our hotel down there we're only a 20 minute drive from the ocean. The kids love the beach.  At least, they did when they were younger.  Digging holes, running from the water, complaining about how the sand is in every crack and crevice.  They love it!

Cups

Image
We have a lot of pics and videos of the Tea Cups.  The cups are great!

Splash Mountain - In Memoriam

Image
Splash Mountain no longer exists.  That's okay.  We have a ton of pics and videos.  We can watch the entire ride on YouTube.  It will come back and the big drop will still be there.  I will ride it again.  I will laugh. In the meantime, enjoy these pics.  They're fun!

Snacks!!!

Image
By now it's no secret that half the reason I love Disneyland is the snacks.  Collectively we have eaten a lot of stuff at the parks. Here's two boys eating turkey legs.  Notice the hats. Speaking of turkey legs, check this out: The turkey legs are really good!  Salty.  Big. Tasty. Lissa claims the pickles are good.  I'm not so sure.  There are A LOT of options to eat at the park and a pickle tends to be waaaaaay down on my list of things to try.   Here's an example of something better than a pickle: Bengal BBQ!

Big, Big Thunder

Image
Are you tired of Big Thunder posts? We're still almost two months away for our trip, but it sure feels like it's time to stop posting about this ride and time to just go ride it!

Screamin'

Image
This ride is definitely in my top ten.  It's great.  It doesn't need me to sell anyone on riding it.  If you try it once you'll love it.  It's fast.  It goes upside down. I can only ride it once or I'll get sick.  I love it!

Some Random Pics

Image
Here are some random pics of when we've gone to Disneyland.  These are supposed to spark a bit of nostalgia for you.  They're supposed to bring a smile to your face.  They're supposed to get you excited for our trip. Remember this one?  That house we rented was perfect.  Lots of bathrooms and bedrooms.  A nice pool and hot tub too. That trip was fun! As I've worked through these pictures it has amazed me how fast the time has gone.  Look at these little boys! I like this picture.  As I recall, Gage was a bit chilly but hesitant to wear his cool aunt Lissa's pink/purple jacket.  I remember very distinctly that I bought a caramel apple churro because it sounded so good and I wanted to try it.  Gage ate it!  He did give me a bite though.  That happened right before he took Lissa's jacket. I don't know where Jenna found these chickens.  Please let me know in the group text where these chickens are in the park. Here's another one with very young boys who are

Merchandise is Fun!

Image
The merch is fun.  Not to buy, but to play with for a bit! And, let's be honest, it's fun to buy!

Jungle Cruise is Dad Joke Heaven!!!

Image
I love the Jungle Cruise.  It's really fun!  A one-day ticket to Disneyland costs about $104.  I think they should take around four of those dollars and improve the speaker system in the boats.  The jokes are hilarious, but hard to hear. The ride is also a great time to take some pics. A video too:

Get Ready and Drive!

Image
I enjoy planning a Disney trip almost as much as I enjoying being there.  It's fun, for me, to get the snacks and stuff ready for the drive. I also spend a bit of time studying the map for the drive down.  It's not a challenging drive until the last couple hours.  We get on I-15 and head south for many, many hours.  Once in southern Cali I need the GPS to get me to our hotel.  I still look at the map anyway. The whole thing feels like a vacation, but when we see that first palm tree in St. George that's when I know we're really doing it! Sometimes it works out that we're in St. George around breakfast time.  I like to eat at Black Bear Diner.  Their pancakes are amazing and I love to overeat and then drive for 5 hours! Flat tire.

Ferris Bueller Wheel

Image
I think this will be the last post about the dumb ferris wheel.  Worst ride ever, but since this is called Disneyland EVERYDAY I gotta include these pics in the blog.  It's okay, though, because we can use this as an excuse to bag on the ride in the group text! There is one good thing that came out of this ride.  This video of two boys who got in the wrong cage and wound up on the swinging side.  This makes me smile every time I watch it!

Family Pictures

Image
I'm on record (a lot of times) as not really liking forced poses for pictures.  I think the pictures of us in action are much more enjoyable.  Once we went in Blanding and the photographer had the audacity to tell me to lay on the ground.  I was an absolute baby about that.  It was stupid.  Sorry mom. I do make an exception to my otherwise sound rule when we are at Disneyland.  The family pics are really pretty fun! As much as I don't like starting the day with a picture, I do think it's good to get a family pic right out front, by the nice flowers and stuff.  When we get to the park all I can think about is getting on Pirates.  You guys need to remind me to take some pics along the way.
